About me
Hi! I’m Jamie, a Dutch stop-motion animator and visual storyteller with a passion for handcrafted filmmaking.
I recently graduated from Sint Joost School of Art & Design, where I specialized in stop-motion animation. What draws me to stop-motion is the opportunity to create every element by hand, from sculpting puppets and building miniature sets to painting props and carefully animating each frame.
I enjoy telling emotional stories that blend fairy-tale imagery with darker themes. My work often explores grief, longing, escapism and transformation, using handcrafted worlds to express emotions that are sometimes difficult to put into words.
Beyond animation itself, I love every part of the creative process. Designing characters, experimenting with materials, solving practical challenges and seeing a world slowly come to life frame by frame is what makes stop-motion so rewarding to me.
My ultimate dream is to design and build puppets for large productions, creating characters that inspire imagination while combining craftsmanship with storytelling.
Whether I’m creating an original short film or designing a single prop, I always strive to make work that feels thoughtful, visually rich and emotionally honest.
