"What if the dream that comforts you is the very thing destroying you?"
Droomprins is a stop-motion short film exploring toxic daydreaming, heartbreak, and the fragile line between fantasy and reality.
The film follows Ninette, a young woman who retreats into an imagined fairy-tale romance after losing the person she loves. As her dream world grows richer and more comforting, her connection to reality slowly fades. What begins as an escape from grief develops into a dangerous obsession.
Combining handcrafted puppets, a wooden bedroom set, miniature props, and replacement animation, the film uses visual symbolism and fairy-tale imagery to explore themes of longing, idealisation, and self-deception.
Droomprins invites viewers to reflect on the comfort of fantasy and the price of refusing to let it go.
